This is the remix....

Just got into the office. I am happy to report that no tears were shed as we left our oldest son in the hands of total strangers now responsible for his daily well-being :)

I did fight off a few tears as I helped my son get dressed in his new uniform. I thought about the fact that this may be one of the last times I actually help him get dressed. The tears started to form, but I fought them off and was victorious.

He walked into his new school a little anxious but extremely excited. We'll see how he feels at 4pm when I pick him up.

As for the rest of the weekend, I attended my favorite cousin's wedding on Saturday.
It was a beautiful wedding and I got to spend time with my entire family (without kids). We danced, consumed lots of alcohol and ate way too much. A good time indeed.

Sunday...football and lots of it. I knew going into the season that my Giants were going to have an uphill battle and so...*gasp* I did not pick them to win against Dallas. Yes, we may have lost our running back too. This is going to be one tough season for us. The loss of Tiki is going to really be felt. The good side? Eli had a good game :)

As for those EAGLES? LMAO. I love coming to work after an Eagles loss....everyone is quiet.

Oh yeah....and Britney S.pears is DONE. Whatever she called that performance last night was HORRIBLE. Her career is done. And Sarah S.ilver.man? Okay, I get it. Her comedic schtick is all about insulting people. However, to say that Brit.ney's two kids are "mistakes" was so not appropriate. If a b.lack com.edian had made that joke???? Yup.....we would all be reading about it this morning on CNN.

PEACE!

I didn't watch the awards show, but the Sarah Silverman's comment may have been a play off of tabloid headline that Brittney siad that about her own kids. Like I said I didn't watch the show, so didn't catch the context.

I am glad you had a tearless first day of school. I am sure he is going to be bursting this afternoon with so much to tell you. Stay strong. I am sure that will be an emotional moment for you as well, hearing how your baby had fun without you.

aw! i can't wait to hear about his first day! GO PANTHERS!! i love going to work after steelers losses esp. when the panthers win. good times all around. people are seriously depressed when the steelers lose. its muy amusing. that eagles loss was so pitiful. but to the oldest qb in america? wow... and why is donovan like super skinny w/the shaved head? he looks bizarre. at least we know he's not on roids! brit was so... lackluster. i just saw pieces on the early am news and was like errr?? but more confused by usa today referencing ashanti rolling her eyes and laughing at brit's performance. YOU CAN'T DANCE STUPID!! OR SING!! pot meet kettle. NOT an ashanti fan. and ya girl silver.man is incessantly talkin out of the side of her neck. comedian or not, we would have words if she tried me.

For real though....Sarah Silverman's stuff was not even funny. Just harsh. And I draw the line at talking about someone's children. Make fun of Britney but don't say her kids are the "cutest mistakes you've ever seen". That ish is in really poor taste.

i don't think MTV was expecting a stellar performance from Brit. Nothing! Not One Thing from her recent past what have suggested that she was going to anything but be the mess she is...THE NETWORK capitalized off tabloid power and booked her at the top of the night to insure water cooler talk...

(it worked)

Aunt Jackie...you are absolutely right. Her "non-performance" will be the hot topic for the rest of the week.

Oldest boy comes from "good stock." Either that or you looked him in the eye and said those three words that momma Pro is known for: Suck. It. Up.

*laffs*

I'm glad all is well in the Sixty-Nine household. And even "weller" in the POE, after an Eagles game. One Monday morning, during the season, you ought to walk up in there and yell out, "Hersh!" (A La Mr. Brown from Madea, translates 'hush'.)

Back to add: I didn't realize you were talking about the VMAs. I so don't watch those shows much more these years. I always feel out of the loop as it relates to staying abreast of pop culture. Now "pop couture" is a different subject. LOL.

Also, Erica B. your "scalding mess" will be officially hijacked by me hence forth.

I didn't see the show but somewhere in the audience Justin Timberlake had to be sitting there laughing. I know I would have.

Awww...it's a challenge having them grow at the rate they are. I agree with your comment about Britney's performance. It was indeed HORRIBLE! She was stiff as I don't know what, and she looked like she was just taking a stroll about the stage. Definitely shouldn't have been the opening for the show.

Go Pats! I was all football last night. Did you see that poor guy from the Bills? I hope they are able to work a miracle on him.

Britney looked high.

Enjoy your son now. Turn around and turn back and youll be packing their respective hooptys, and sending them off to college.

No tears! Yay for you and Tali! Can't wait to hear about the first day/week.

I agree with Aunt Jackie. My thoughts as soon as SS started getting on her was how terribly tacky it was to bring her on in the first place and then immediately after, have this lame broad tear her down. Britney was used. They saw an op to make fun of her and have everyone talking about how terrible a performance it was. Sad.

Sarah S, however was dry and had no drugs to blame it on.
